In anticipation of Essence Festival in Canberra on 2nd to 4th October, we were lucky enough to catch up with organiser Dan Nahum!

We had a good ol' chat about Canberra's heaviest festival, his inspirations, and the myriad of bands he's in (he's a drummer).

We sat down for a chat with the one and only Lochlan Watt for a great chat about all sorts of things from what gets him excited to what makes him tick!

If you live in another country or under a rock, he's had a long and storied history in Australian heavy music. Lochlan's part of various bands both in a permanent and guest capacity, as well as hosting JJJ's The Racket for 12 years, and now working as a promoter with Destroy All Lines.

Sol and Tim from MUNT joined us on the couch with the aim to chat about their debut album The World is not Yours, but things naturally turned into a huge yap fest ranging from bunnings carpark gigs to the strong undercurrent of heavy Brisbane bands to broken sound desks in the studio.

We were very lucky to follow around Shane & Leanne all day to talk about both the venues they run; the Last Chance Rock n Roll Bar & the Tote!

They're fantastic publicans and even better people giving everything they can to help keep Melbourne's live music scene alive.

We've been dying to get Droid on the couch ever since Dr Colossus told us about the ongoing feud between the two bands. Lucky for us, they were free and keen to discuss everything from how it all started (the band and the feud) to some of their favourite local noise artists to blast beats in stoner doom to the newest slurs to gain widespread use.
