This week on Bear Newscessities, hosts Jacob Stowers and Hannah Webb dive into James Talarico’s future campaign event on campus. They also discuss the rise of Flock cameras and Gov. Greg Abbott’s recent updates to legislation concerning them. Lastly, they recap their FWOC — First Week of Classes, if you will.

The Baylor Bears are back on campus, and so are we. Aiden Richmond, Charlie Cole and Jeffrey Cohen kick off the fall with the biggest questions from football’s offseason. From fresh faces to fresh jerseys, Baylor football looks to do everything it can to turn around after a 5-7 season last year, bringing in Florida Transfer DJ Lagway and his ragtag group of receivers. Soccer also got a moment in the limelight before 1 loss dropped them out of the rankings after beating a ranked Arkansas and a good-looking Texas A&M.

The Waco Youth Revivals were a story of youthful courage, blind industriousness, deep faith and prayer. Almost overnight, Baylor became a regional hub in a youth revival movement that sprawled across the nation and was later made famous by Billy Graham. And it all happened right in the heart of Texas.

Drew Humphrey has spent much of his adult life working with college students and praying for revival. Tap in to hear more about the lessons learned from the revivals of yesteryear — and what we need to know about preparing for revival today.

John (Baylor '01) has given his life to mission work in China and Myanmar. After graduating, the former business student worked in Waco for a few years before moving his young family across the ocean to the place he now calls home.

Dylan Mingo is coming to Waco.

The five-star recruit is joining his brother, Kayden in Waco. The combo guard from Long Island (NY) Lutheran HS missed most of his senior season with an ankle injury, but has his eyes set on taking the Bears dancing. Plus, Jerome Tang makes his way back courtside in Foster Pavilion, returning to his old stomping ground with head coach Scott Drew, where the two will look to repeat history side by side.

Oh, and in case you forgot, we’re an Acro & Tumbling school — Baylor A&T has now claimed 11 straight national titles. The team has moved to 62 straight victories en route to the title, with a promotion to NCAA status looming in 2027.
