How Cape Town Saved Its City Centre, with Robert Silke
An architect's job is not what most people think. "You don't own the canvas," says Robert Silke. "It's other people's money you're using."
In Part 1, Robert Silke explains the discipline behind city-shaping architecture, why protecting the client's money is what earns the freedom to design well, and how the conversion of one abandoned granite building helped revive Cape Town's city centre. He also makes a pointed case for why that centre declined in the first place.

Rebuilding Sea Point, and Why This Is Not a Bubble, with Paul Berman
Sea Point did not recover on its own. It was rebuilt, and someone paid for it.
In this episode, Paul Berman explains why the Sea Point high street declined after the Waterfront opened, what it cost a group of local owners to bring it back, and why the numbers he has tracked since 1994 tell him the Atlantic Seaboard is not a bubble. He shares the data behind that view, including the 46 percent jump in sales in 2025, the seventy percent of buyers who are local, and the eighty percent who pay cash. He also explains why he still insists on meeting almost every purchaser before they buy.

Building Communities Through the Hands On Foundation, with Saul Berman
Building a successful business is one thing. What you do with that success is another.
In this episode, Saul Berman tells the story behind the Hands On Foundation. Being written off at school as a dyslexic child, fighting his way through technical college, and the decision to put technical training back inside ordinary South African schools. He explains why skilled trades are the country's most undervalued asset, why AI raises rather than lowers their worth, and how Berman Brothers Group brings pupils onto its live building sites to learn.

The Founding Story of BBG: How It All Started with Paul & Saul Berman
In this first episode of The Inside Story by BBG, Paul and Saul Berman share how their business began, not from a position of advantage, but from necessity.
The conversation explores their early experiences, the moment their paths came together, and the decisions that shaped the business over time. It offers a clear view into how the property industry actually works through the lens of those building within it.
