For those who read the Source magazine in the 90s and early 2000s remember in the back of the magazine there was a cartoon depicting the rapper on the cover(via a metaphor or a pun) which was hand drawn by Andre and caught attention(good and bad) from rappers he characterized. Flash forward to Brooklyn in the present at his exhibit where his pieces was on display from the Source and freelance endeavors. Recently we had a sit down with the founder of Subway Cinema, Goran Topalovic who discusses the upcoming Korean Cinema's Golden Decade: The 1960s The series will run from September 1–17 at Film At Lincoln Center and is one of the largest retrospectives ever of 1960s Korean Cinema outside of Korea, including many rarely screened films, several presented on 35mm archival prints. Subway Cinema, a New York-based grassroots nonprofit arts and culture organization, dedicated to the exhibition and appreciation of Asian popular cinema and preservation of America’s Asian film exhibition heritage. Goran is also one of the founders of the annual New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) and the Old School Kung Fu Fest.
