Marcus Ross - Dinosaurs

In this episode Marcus Ross (bio below) and I discuss dinosaurs. We discuss how the fossil record can be reconciled with a young earth creationist point of view, predators before the fall, Behemoth and Leviathan, dragons, the serpent of Genesis 3 and much more! Marcus Ross has loved paleontology (and especially dinosaurs) since he was a kid growing up in Rhode Island. After earning a B.S. in Earth Science from the Pennsylvania State University, he continued his studies with a M.S. in Vertebrate Paleontology from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science (Geoscience) from the University of Rhode Island.  Dr. Ross taught at Liberty University for sixteen years, attaining the rank of Professor of Geology and also Director of the Center for Creation Studies. In 2021 he stepped away from teaching to dedicate more time to Cornerstone Educational Supply, the company that he and his wife Corinna founded in 2014.  Dr. Ross regularly contributes to creationist research and education in both technical and popular literature, with research published in Answers Research Journal, Journal of Creation, and the International Conference on Creationism. Dr. Danny Faulkner holds an MS in physics from Clemson University, an MA and a PhD in astronomy from Indiana University, and he taught at the University of South Carolina—Lancaster for over 26 years. He has published over 100 papers in various journals.

Danny works as a researcher, author, and speaker for Answers in Genesis. Doug Petrovich - Day 1 of Creation

Douglas Petrovich (Ph.D., M.A., Th.M., M.Div.) is professor of biblical history and exegesis at The Bible Seminary in Katy, Texas. He also serves as epigrapher for the Shiloh Excavations in Israel. His Ph.D. from the University of Toronto includes a major in Syro-Palestinian archaeology, a first minor in ancient Egyptian language, and a second minor in ancient Near Eastern religions. His research interests include biblical history and exegesis, Egyptology, and ancient Near Eastern history, including archaeology, epigraphy, chronology, and iconography. He served formerly as an assistant professor and the academic dean at Novosibirsk Biblical-Theological Seminary (Akademgorodok, Russia), as well as an associate professor and the vice president of academic affairs at Shepherd's Theological Seminary (Cary, North Carolina). In this episode we discuss who wrote Genesis 1, why it was written, the emphasis of Genesis 1:1, the relationship between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, the source of the light on day 1, and when time began.

G. K. Beale - The New Testament’s Use of the Old Testament

Rev. Dr. Gregory K. Beale (PhD, Cambridge) ha held the position of the J. Gresham Machen chair of New Testament and is research professor of New Testament and biblical interpretation at Westminster Theological Seminary, but is now building graduate program at Reformed Theological Seminary in Dallas. Dr. Beale’s academic interests include the New Testament’s use of the Old Testament, the book of Revelation, the biblical-theological theme of temple as the dwelling place of God, and the topic of inerrancy, among others. In this episode, we discuss the New Testament’s use of the Old Testament. We discuss how people differ in how they understand exactly how the New Testament writers are using the Old Testament, and we also looked at several examples, including Acts 13:41’s use of Habakkuk 1:5, Ephesians 4:8’s use of Psalm 68:18, Paul’s use of Deuteronomy 25:4, and Jesus’ use of Psalm 22 on the cross.

Dr. Stephen Dempster (PhD, University of Toronto) is Professor of Religious Studies at Crandall University. Dr. Dempster is the author of numerous academic articles on the Old Testament canon and biblical theology. He has also authored two books, a forthcoming commentary on Micah in the Two Horizons Old Testament Commentary Series. In this episode, we discuss his book, Dominion & Dynasty: A Theology of the Hebrew Bible and how to read the Old Testament as a complete narrative rather than a hodge podge of books.
