Anglo-Catholicism vs Reformed Anglicanism - A Dialogue

I moderate a dialogue between two Anglican clergymen from two major strands of Anglicanism: Fr. James (Anglo-Catholicism) aka Barely Protestant, and Rev. David Ould (Reformed Anglicanism). We will proceed through a number of major topics, such as the nature of the sacraments, the canon of Holy Scripture, church authority, and much more. Both men will give their own take on these topics from their respective traditions and personal stances, and then engage in a back and forth. This dialogue will give a solid introduction to the major strands of historic Anglicanism. More critically, it will also serve as an excellent display of substantive dialogue between two movements with significant disagreements, and how we can still mutually affirm brotherhood in Christ despite such differences.

I team up with A Goy for Jesus once again for a collab, this time in response to Trent Horn and Suan Sonna's unexpected response to a classic Triablogue article, "51 Biblical Proofs Of A Pauline Papacy And Ephesian Primacy", which took pop Roman apologetic methods of quote-mining for the Papacy and applied it to Paul in order to prove a Pauline Papacy. In absolute terms, their responses to these texts are totally on point. But I and Geoff will argue that they miss the forest through the trees in failing to consider how their critical appraisal of Pauline prooftexts likewise work against Petrine prooftexts, which was the (implicit) aim of the original article itself.

Ecclesialism - A Critique
In a prior stream on this issue, I established a truly comparable conceptual counterpart to Sola Scriptura which I dubbed Ecclesialism, with the aim of providing a fair contrast to Sola Scriptura. In this stream I will be applying some key arguments made against Sola Scriptura to the concept of Ecclesialism in order to demonstrate that some alleged defeaters of Sola Scriptura proposed by Romanist and Eastern detractors likewise falsify their own system. I will also be addressing potential and actual objections to my application of the same arguments against Sola Scriptura to Ecclesialism. My hope in this is to bring a true advancement in discussions on authority in Christianity, and inspire people to seek consistency in applying to their own systems the standards they level against others.
