Karma Isn’t Fate: Reclaiming Your Power to Shape Your Life

Karma Isn’t Fate: Reclaiming Your Power to Shape Your Life

Karma is often misunderstood as fate—something fixed, inevitable, and beyond your control. But what if that’s not true? In this episode, we explore a deeper, more empowering understanding of karma as intentional action and the ripple effects it creates in your life.

Drawing on insights from Buddhist wisdom and Christian mysticism, this conversation reveals how every thought, word, and choice becomes a seed for what unfolds next. It’s not about blame or punishment—it’s about participation, awareness, and transformation.

We also explore the powerful intersection of karma and forgiveness, and how choosing differently—even in small moments—can break old cycles and open entirely new paths forward.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in patterns or wondered how much agency you really have, this episode is an invitation to reclaim your role as a conscious creator of your life.

Faith in the Time of a Plague: Is Suffering Divine Punishment?

Faith in the Time of a Plague: Is Suffering Divine Punishment?

When catastrophe strikes, humanity returns to an ancient question: Is this God’s judgment?

In this episode, we journey back to the 14th-century Black Death to explore how one of history’s most devastating pandemics shook faith, reshaped belief, and revealed radically different spiritual responses. From the dramatic penitent processions of the flagellants to the quiet courage of clergy who stayed behind to care for the dying, the crisis exposed both the fragility and the depth of human faith.

Drawing parallels with the recent COVID-19 pandemic, we reflect on how suffering challenges belief, deepens compassion, and forces us to confront timeless questions about God, justice, and human responsibility.

The episode also explores the inspiration behind the historical novel Sages, Saints and Sinners, a story of love, doubt, and spiritual struggle set in a world that believed the end had arrived.

What happens to faith when the world begins to collapse—and what remains when certainty disappears?

The IronMind Mentality: Turning Addiction, Cancer, and Crisis into Unbreakable Leadership

Kenny Stoddart Jr. seemed to have everything the world defines as success. By 24, he was already a self-made millionaire. Over the next 27 years, he built an impressive career in cybersecurity, closing major deals with some of the world’s largest technology companies.

But behind the success was a quieter struggle.

While rising professionally, Kenny was privately battling alcohol dependence — a fight that ultimately led him to rehab and forced him to confront who he truly was beyond titles and achievements.

Just as he began rebuilding his life and launching his coaching practice, another life-altering challenge arrived: a diagnosis of Stage 2B prostate cancer.

Instead of retreating, Kenny chose transformation.

Out of addiction, recovery, and illness emerged what he calls the IronMind Mentality — a framework for navigating disruption, reclaiming identity, and turning life’s hardest seasons into the foundation for deeper strength.

Today, Kenny works with leaders and executives to build resilience from the inside out — helping them not only succeed in business, but endure life’s unexpected storms with clarity, courage, and purpose.

In this conversation, we explore what it truly means to rebuild a life, rediscover identity, and transform adversity into a catalyst for growth.

Where Real Power Lives

Where Real Power Lives

What I have learned over the course of my life is this:
When you  push beneath the surface—beneath the pain, the losses, the disappointments, the anger—what you avoiddoesn’t disappear. It amplifies. It shows up as exhaustion, numbness, overworking, or the quiet escape into distractions that keep you away from yourtrue authenticity and vulnerability.

Life happens.
Emotions like anger, grievance, and shame are signals most of us were never taught to listen to. They are uncomfortable. They ask something of us. And so we turn away. I know this terrain intimately.
About twenty years ago, I found myself on the edge of burnout. I had poured myself into work as a way of not feeling—of not having to sit with grief, disappointment, and unresolved loss and pain. From the outside I wasfunctioning. Inside, I was emptying out.

What saved me was not another strategy—but a pause.

I felt a deep call to step into a quiet space of reflection, and that call led me to the Camino de Santiago. Walking day after day, with nothing to distract me from my inner life, I discovered something essential:
The way forward is not around the pain, but through it.

Walking through the darkness.
Stepping into the fire.
Staying present when everything is in denial and rebellion, wanting to turn away.

If you find yourself in an in-between moment—startingthis year longing for deeper purpose, real connection, honesty with yourself, and the support of consistency and accountability—I invite you to join me.

Redefining Masculinity: Why are so many young men lost?

Redefining Masculinity: Why are so many young men lost?

A mother leans in, lowers her voice, and confesses—almost inshame—that her son, now in his thirties, is still living at home. He’s unemployed. He spends most of his days in the basement playing PC games. Meanwhile, his sister—same upbringing, same parents—is thriving. She’s independent, fulfilled, and living what appears to be the life of her dreams. This isn’t an isolated story anymore. It’s becoming a pattern.

The old image of masculinity—the stoic provider, theemotional brick wall, the unflinching warrior—no longer fits a world that now values communication, emotional literacy, adaptability, and connection. And when an identity collapses without being replaced, people don’t just feel confused—they feel ashamed, angry, and lost.

When Pain Becomes Purpose

When Pain Becomes Purpose

Let me speak to those of you who might be goingthrough one of life’s tougher chapters right now — maybe it’s grief, uncertainty, or a sense of loss. And then, just when you’re barely holding it together, someone — well-meaning, of course — says, “You should just begrateful.” And you feel that surge inside, that urge to say, “You don’t understand. Please just shut up.” Because it’s not that simple, is it? It gets even harder when you start comparing your life to others — those who seem happier, wealthier, healthier, younger. Their light can feel blinding when you’re sitting in the dark. But here’s the thing: youcan’t silence real emotions like sadness, fear, or despair by slapping gratitude on top like a bandage. That’s not healing — that’s avoidance.

Finding Sanity in an Insane World

Finding Sanity in an Insane World

Carl Gustav Jung once summized: “It’s not famine, not earthquakes, not microbes, not cancer, but man himself who is man’s greatest danger to man.”

He went on to say that there’s no real protection againstwhat he called “psychic epidemics.”
Those are the kind of epidemics that don’t attack the body — they attack the mind. And lately, it feels like one of those epidemics is spreading faster than ever.
It’s not a virus we can see under a microscope. It’s something far more subtle — and far more dangerous. It’s called collective insanity.
That’s when whole groups of people begin to share the same irrational beliefs, the same emotions, the same behaviors — drifting further and further from reality.

But history also shows us that this kind of collective madness never lasts forever. It always collapses under the weight of truth. Sometimes painfully, tragically — but it collapses.

In Germany, it ended when the war was lost and the truthcould no longer be denied.

The way back — the only way back — is truth-telling.And courage. It takes brave souls and compassionate communities to speak truth, even when it’s unpopular or unsafe. It takes honesty — emotional honesty — to face the grief, guilt, and fear without turning away.

And when that happens collectively, healing begins.

Finding Purpose in a World Unraveling

Finding Purpose in a World Unraveling

There are days when it feels as though the world isunraveling. Truth is questioned. Values are mocked. Evenmeaning itself seems up for debate.

The Danish philosopher Kierkegaard once warned that the sickness of the soul sets in when a higher purpose is abandoned. In that empty space, something else always rushes in. This is often outrage, oversimplified narratives, and the temptation to divide the world into “us” and “them.”

The sociologist James Davison Hunter describes thismoment as the rise of a new, nihilistic culture. He writes that it’s defined not by what it builds, but by what it tears down. A culture driven by fear, demonization, and the will to destroy. He notes that identities are increasingly formed through opposition: I know who I am only because I knowwho my enemy is. And from that comes rage, hatred, and the thirst for revenge. In a strange, distorted way, that rage becomes a source of meaning.

But is that really the only story available to us?

This episode explores gratitude as a real antidote to nihilism and finding purpose by seeing the world in a different way.

Sages, Saints and Sinners: When Things Fall Apart

Sages, Saints and Sinners: When Things Fall Apart

History is often cyclical. Humanity repeatedly faces cathartic trials to achieve breakthroughs in collective consciousness.

Over the past four years, I have delved deeply into comparing the COVID-19 crisis with another pivotal catastrophe in human history—the Black Death of the 14th century.

Reflecting on the pandemic's impact, it feels almost surreal how profoundly it has reshaped our lives. The lingering effects of collective fear, anxiety, and uncertainty continue to ripple through societies, fueling political extremism and even the collapse of governments in several countries. And this, it seems, is only the beginning This journey of reflection and exploration has culminated in an exciting milestone: my upcoming book, Sages, Saints, and Sinners is set to release on April 8th. The novel delves into the historical echoes, human resilience, and moral questions that crises like these bring to the forefront.

One principle of creation that we learn from Daoist philosophy is that a state of equilibrium and new beginnings is often preceded by a whirlwind of destruction and chaos.

With the universe forming the ultimate equilibrium, surface events often appear chaotic, but are inherently connected to a universal order.
