Navigating the Holidays: SOBER
Navigating the Holidays: SOBER
Hosted by: Melissa Paige
We are already approaching the holiday season! I woke up thinking a couple things today. First, I can’t believe we are in the holiday season. Secondly, I have a cold but I’m not hungover. Rewind to 2010, every day that ended in “y,” minus Monday’s sometimes, I woke up hungover.
Now, I’m sober and I don’t wake up that way anymore but sometimes the holidays are still hard. And they’re hard for a lot of us. Especially for those of us in recovery, those who are sober, or those who are newly sober. This is a reminder to be gentle to yourself.
“Don’t feel like you have to do things to make others happy.”
IN THIS EPISODE
- Tips if you’re newly sober during the holidays.
- Being nice vs. being kind.
- How to find sober activities.
- Creating new traditions.
- Preparing for events where there will be alcohol.

Interview with H.G. Tudor , Part 1 - Expert on Narcissism, Famous Author & Writer, and Diagnosed Narcissistic Psychopath
Narcissistic Tendencies with H.G. Tudor (E)
Hosted by: Melissa Paige
In February of 2020, I was coming out of a relationship with someone my therapist believed has NPD, or Narcissistic Personality Disorder as well as believed to have Antisocial Personality Disorder. In other words, a Narcissistic Psychopath. . During this relationship with that individual, friends kept approaching me with this idea that he was a narcissist by how he treated me and others with seemingly no empathy.
Honestly, prior to encountering this individual, I didn’t understand what a narcissist truly was. I started trauma therapy after the relationship because it was extremely abusive, and today I can say I’m happier than ever. But, it has been quite a journey.
Part of my healing journey was the knowledge that I gained from listening to H. G. Tudor’s YouTube channel, which was referred to me by my therapist. So, I am super excited to actually have him on my show today.
“Fuel can come from the things that you say and the things that you do.”
IN THIS EPISODE
- What H.G. has been diagnosed with and how he uses this diagnosis now.
- The different types of narcissists and their traits.
- Distinct qualities about an individual that may mean they are a narcissist.
- Where narcissism comes from.
- How H.G.’s childhood led to his diagnosis.
- Providing fuel to the narcissist and the devaluation process.
- Narcissistic rage/fury and how it’s different from anger.
- Everyday examples to provide real life context.
- Why the narcissist targets you.
- The red flags to watch out for online and in person.
- Should you stop online dating?
In the next episode, I'll be recording Part 2 of the Interview with H.G. Tudor. If you don’t know him, he is a World renown expert on narcissism, famous author, writer, and a diagnosed Narcissistic Psychopath who is extremely intelligent and self-aware.
