Parenting Abroad: Raising Kids without Your Village
In this episode, I sit down with Dorcas Akinlade, a working mom in Canada, navigating the unique challenges of raising children thousands of miles away from her extended family.
When you become a parent in the diaspora, everything changes. There's no grandmother to call for advice at 2 AM. No aunties to take your kids for the day so you can rest. No cousins to teach them about home. It's just you, your partner ,, and the challenge of building a community from scratch.
