Jesus meets us where we are

Jesus meets us where we are

Homily by Deacon Richard.

This week, take a moment of real honesty before God by returning to the desert experience we heard about two weeks ago on the 1st Sunday of Lent.

Ask yourself: Where am I still thirsty? What am I relying on instead of Him.

And then do something simple but real: Ask Him, in prayer — “Lord, give me this living water.” Not as a vague idea, but as a real request.

Because He is still sitting at the well. Still waiting. Still asking: “Give me a drink”—so that He can give you something far greater.

Introduction to the Parish Men's Group

Introduction to the Parish Men's Group

Michael introduces the new Parish Men's Group and reflects on the fruits of fellowship within the Parish:

"Having this fellowship of Catholic Men I know has helped me to grow and have more confidence discussing faith and prayer with others, especially at work and with family and friends. This calls back to Archbishop Mark’s letter, being part of the Lord’s missionary work to help each other grow in faith and have the confidence to make a difference outside of parish life, finding our identity and refuge in Christ."

18:00 - Thursday, 26th February.

St David's Church, Cwmbran.

Introduction to Alpha & Sycamore

Introduction to Alpha & Sycamore

Adrian Bold, our Co-Ordinator for the Alpha Course and RCIA programme, reflected:

"Fr Daniel described what seeking Jesus looks like in real terms and used St John Henry Newman’s phrase “heart speaking to heart” to show what that seeking looks like. We should begin with our own seeking which may lead to the possibility of “finding” - and open us up to a new, personal encounter with Jesus. So, - we don’t begin with an outward push for evangelisation but rather with inward reflection – a search to discover the face of Jesus which transforms and illuminates our lives. To provide within us a desire for renewal in the Holy Spirit to seek the face of Jesus - and of our heart seeking His most Sacred Heart".

Everyone is welcome to join the parish Alpha Group.
